Barack Obama's inauguration was a historic event. In an attempt to do something different to document the day, a number of Aurora Photo Agency photographers spent inauguration day, January 20, 2009, photographing some of the significant issues that are facing Obama and America as he shepherds the country through a challenging time. I decided to document illegal immigration along the US & Mexico border. I chose this topic because I saw a parallel between the migrants who hope for a better life in the US with the millions of Americans who voted for Obama amid the same hope.
